Thoughts on Process and Purpose
My artistic practice is a continual exploration and ongoing effort to let ideas surface naturally without knowing the outcome. I begin with abstract markings and watch to see what they reveal. My expression evolves quite magically and sometimes unexpectedly. I believe my inspiration is innate and is derived from life experiences and an interest in female power, inner strength, and the inner and outer dimensions of the soul and spirit.
Each piece develops intuitively through experimentation and openness. Color emerges as I work, and I’m naturally drawn to bright palettes. Using different mark making tools allows shapes and forms to appear unexpectedly, often revealing hidden images. I work primarily with oil paints and vibrant colors. Recurring threads in my work include exposing the inner soul of a woman, spirituality and a sense of celestial connection.
I aim to create a “wow” moment—something that sparks imagination and invites viewers to question the limits of material reality.
Ultimately, art serves as both a private manifestation and a shared expression. I hope my work draws viewers in and opens a space to experience art with curiosity and a sense of play.
